2004 - Tate House
This Georgian house, an architectural style rarely found in Maine, was built by Captain George Tate in 1755. The most important building in the Colonial area remaining in Portland, it has been meticulously preserved and furnished to reflect the lifestyle of a leading citizen living during the last half of the 18th century in the Province of Maine. The Tate House is the only remaining pre-Revolutionary home in Portland open to the public.
